Bettles is off the road system and only accessible by air taxi. The most frequented air taxi service to Bettles is with Wright’s Air Service based out of Fairbanks.

Are there stores in Bettles?

No. You will need to bring your own supplies and groceries when traveling to Bettles.

Is there dining in Bettles?

Yes. You can dine at the Bettles Lodge for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is recommended to call ahead of time to make your reservations. 

How do I visit the National Parks?

From June into September Brooks Range Aviation is a Bettles based air taxi that services for drop offs, pick ups and park tours into the National Parks. The Park Service Visitor Center for Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve and Kobuk Valley National Park is located in Bettles.

Can you see the Northern Lights in Bettles?

Yes! Due to the low light pollution, Bettles is an idyllic location for viewing the Northern Lights. The Northern Lights can be viewed anytime from the end of August through the middle of April. Most Northern Light viewing is planned during the dates around the New Moon each month.

How far is Arctic Haven Lodging from the Bettles airport?

Everything in Bettles is within walking distance from the airport.
